I was really delighted when I saw that packages for OpenOffice2 and VMWarePlayer are on the CD of this month's Linux User magazine. Now that I wanted to install these packages I noticed that they put only .rpm-files on the CD. This really sucks! Hey folks at Linux User, there are not only rpm-based linux distributions. Ever hear the word "open"? *grrr* I am really angry!

P.S: Thanks for being so kind and putting .exe-files on the CD. What was the name of your magazine again? Linux User? … no must be a mistake …

Lately I became interested in photography. Maybe flickr egged me on or all the other fantastic photo sites on the web, I don't really know. But I know that I want to adhere all those fantastic moments in life. So I bought a used camera at ebay, a Canon EOS 500N. Yes it's analogous, oldfashioned, with a film in it, very retro But it was kinda cheap, a good camera for trying things out and learning. Plus I cannot afford a digital SLR. Now I need a nice little photo scanner so that I can share my pics with you out there. If anyone has a suggestion for a photo scanner (doesn't need to be a new model), don't hesitate to leave a comment.

Since Olaf has two days off too but couldn't stand being away from his workplace we decided to visit the Volkswagen Autostadt on Monday. It was a really nice trip, there was a lot too see and do. I modeled my own car (don't bother me because of the texture, options were very limited):

I also let a robot plant a SunFuel plant for me .. I can watch it grow over the internet and in 8 weeks I can fetch my own SunFuel from the Autostadt. Great huh?!
I sat in a Touareg and a Beetle (unfortunately not in a Bentley or Lamorghini), ate an original Volkswagen Currywurst and saw really nice cars and pavillons, which reminded me of the Expo 2000 in Hannover. Pics of that trip can be found here.

Saturday night Olaf, Andre and I invited some friends to come over for a nice pasta diner and celebrate our birthdays with us. It was a really nice evening with lots of food (I really liked the tuna sauce!), some drinks (hey folks, I guess you get old, only 4 bottles of wine emptied …) and nice music. We have to do that again soon! Meanwhile check out the pics!
