The perfect chocolate cake

4 egg yolks
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
150 g butter
200 g dark chocolate
150 g sugar
2 EL flour
100 g almonds or hazelnuts

* melt butter and chocolate and stir it together
* mix sugar and egg yolks until they are light and fluffy
* add chocolate butter, flour and almonds or hazelnuts an stir well
* add stiffly beaten egg whites and stir well – you should now have a homogenous fluffy dough
* bake dough in a round well greased pan at 220 degrees (celsius) for 20 minutes

  1. I saw a great tip on a forum once for greasing and flouring the pans for chocolate cakes and that is to use cocoa instead of white flour. This prevents white specks from showing up on the chocolate cake.
